flip flops = flat sandels..slippers

Will flip flops do while site seeing in egypt?
You will sometimes be walking on hard, uneven surfaces and would find flipflops uncomfortable. Remember, your feet also could get sunburned if you leave them uncovered. If you wish to wear sandals get something like Tevas or get something else with heavy soles but lots of coverage of the foot. I also do not see any problem with shoes and socks. It will keep your feet clean, from getting scratched by scratchy plants found on some archaeological sites, and prevent them from getting sunburned. Egypt is not so humid so you don%26#039;t have to worry about your feet getting sweaty and hot.
Reply:Flip Flops? Are you joking?

First of all, flip flops were never meant for heavy-duty walking. They were originally designed just for walking around the pool. If you walk long distances in them, your feet are really going to take a pounding!

Oakley has the best sandals in the world. They are like walking on a rubber mattress. But remember, all sandals leave your feet open to the dirty conditions, flies, etc.

Hence, my recommendation is to get some nice MESH sports shoes. I have ones by Merrell and Adidas. It%26#039;s amazing how much cooler your feet are. You can just wear some ultra light low rise socks (peds), or no socks at all. Remember, you may be climbing around a lot, and flip flops are an invitation to stumbling and breaking your neck.
Reply:Depends where. I would not recommend them for walking in the streets, ur toes will get cut and scratched badly, but on beaches and in resorts, etc, and some site seeing places, where the ground is relatively flat. Also in the new clean places like DreamLand, etc....

For tourist places, i would recommend shoes like Vans, or any other slip ons.
Reply:Not for long errands, actually your toes will be swollen by Lunch time!. i took some comfortable flat sandals with me (the one that had elastic stripes) they really helped.

And like the answerer above said, wear them where you don%26#039;t need to walk for a long time like the swimming pool, a nearby restaurant, etc...

Enjoy.....
Reply:wear flip flops while you are in the hotel , around the pool , etc.

but wear sneekers /walking shoes while you are sighseeing .

the monuments are surrounded by sand , and you will have to do some walking .
Reply:I would take sandels, flip flops if walking about may be bad,its sandy, and stony in most parts,I found sandels ok,but trainers id def take them with you.
Reply:I don%26#039;t think I would like wading through the camel and donkey dung in flip flops. Things aren%26#039;t very neat or tidy there.
