Flip Flops at the Reception?

I%26#039;m thinking about getting my bridesmaids nice flip-flops to match their dresses. I would allow them to wear them at the reception after all the pictures have been taken, after the bridal party intro, toasts and special dances. So, basically, after the dinner is served and the rest of the reception is just dancing. I was also thinking about doing the same for my heels. I wanted to get cute white flip-flops.

What do people think??? I will not be wearing them in any of the formal pictures, that%26#039;s what the heels are for.

Do you think this is tacky?? I want honest opinions!!! I don%26#039;t care if you hurt my feelings......lol.

Please don%26#039;t tell me it%26#039;s my day. I know it is, but I still want honest opinions.

Flip Flops at the Reception?
i have seen it at lots of weddings. at the head table, they had them under their chairs so they could slip them on if they wanted to. i think as long as people have SOMETHING on their feet, it is okay. :) go for it.
Reply:No. I just go barefoot anyway. I don%26#039;t think it%26#039;s tacky at all.

Blisters are TACKY!!!!!!
Reply:I am getting married in 18 days and not only do I plan to wear flip flops under my dress, but my Bridesmaids are also. It%26#039;s an outdoor wedding and I want them to be comfortable as well as myself. I personally don%26#039;t think its tacky at all! Go for it!

Congrats!!
Reply:I think its a GREAT idea!!! I got married 2 months ago, and I told my bridesmaids that they could wear whatever shoes they wanted to, and that if they wanted to wear flip flops at the reception, that was fine!!! I bought myself a cute pair for me at target for $7, that had a cute rinestone cluster on them. I barely made it through the ceremony!!! As soon as we were leaving the church, I had my flip flops on. My girls all also had flip flops too, and my sister was wearing hers till we got to the church, put her heels on, then as we left, she put the flip flops back on........Its not tacky, besides, most dresses are floor length anyways, so you wouldn%26#039;t be able to tell.
Reply:I wore satin ballet-type slippers for my first two weddings (on my third) and no one even knew - unless i told them lol. I told my girls to wear whatever shoes they want just make sure they matched the dress. I didn%26#039;t care - they need to be comfortable too.
Reply:No matter how used to standing in heels you are, you are going to want to change into comfortable shoes after the formal pictures. Whether it is flip flops, flats, or some other type of shoe, you%26#039;re going to want to change into something you can dance and stand in all night, so you don%26#039;t have blistered feel for your honeymoon! Flip flops are fine, they make cute pictures, and your bridesmaids are going to need something comfortable too, or everyone will end up barefoot with sticky feet! Don%26#039;t forget the flowergirl!
Reply:i think that%26#039;s a great idea, i%26#039;m sure your girls will appreciate it.
Reply:I think you should give them flip-flops and get some for yourself. The last thing you want at your reception is to be uncomfortable and most girls like flip-flops. I%26#039;d be excited to get to wear them. If they don%26#039;t want to wear them, they can pick.
Reply:I think it is fine and there are several web sites that sell them for weddings. I have listed one of them. Google it and tons of sites come up. Good luck and God Bless.
Reply:No, it%26#039;s not that it%26#039;s tacky, but odd. Dancing is best in nice comfy dressy sandals or shoes - or no shoes at all.
Reply:that sounds like a good idea... i love flip flops, i would wear them the whole time but that is tacky lol... i think after the pictures and is a good time... i sure wouldn%26#039;t want my feet to hurt from all the dancing in heels
Reply:To tell you the truth, I was planning on doing the same thing. At least I plan on wearing flip flops at the reception. No one will see my feet at all! It%26#039;s up to your bridesmaids if they would want to or not. Some girls won%26#039;t care at all, but then others might not like the idea at all. I say be comfortable, it%26#039;s a long day and you want to enjoy all of it!
Reply:DO IT! You will love yourself and your maids will love you too! We all changed into our own flip flops after my BF%26#039;s wedding our feet were so sore, we would have loved it if we had been given cute matching flips to party in, on girl was in sport flips, I was in black flips another girl had keds flips, our feet loved the comfort, but we all felt bad that we werent in pretty shoes any longer.

This is not by any means tacky.
Reply:I dont think its tacky at all (and i think alot of stuff is tacky haha)

It will be nice after the formal ceremony and pictures for everyone just to be able to let loose and have a good time.

Especially if you can find some cute ones with diamonds on them or something!
Reply:I think it%26#039;s okay after the wedding, if it%26#039;s a more casual reception - maybe not for a real formal evening reception. Comfort is always a nice thing - and after the cake is cut and all - why not!
Reply:Flip flops are the tackiest shoes on earth. I wouldn%26#039;t be caught dead on the beach in them. They are so low class that it%26#039;s just ridiculous. There is nothing worse than a beautiful dress with cheap nasty shoes.
Reply:i%26#039;m not wearing shoes to my wedding... i hate them... they%26#039;ll be lucky to get me into flip flops at any point during my day... It%26#039;s all about comfort. Half the bridesmaid%26#039;s at my future sister-in-law%26#039;s wedding ended up barefoot by the end of the night, so your bridesmaids may thank you for being so thoughtful.
Reply:No, I don%26#039;t think it%26#039;s tacky, far better to have comfy feet than to have your heels ripped to shreds in your posh shoes.
Reply:I would choose a dressy sandal for all. They can have a small heel or flat. But, they would look good for the ceremony and for the pictures.
Reply:I think it is an absolutely fun idea! Ck out the bridal flip flops below.......

Reply:I think it%26#039;s a great idea. I%26#039;ve been in quite a few weddings the past 2 years and all of the bridesmaids changed into them everytime. It%26#039;s a great way to prevent your feet from hurting :)
Reply:I intend to do the same thing.

Go for it and have a great wedding.

Congrats.
Reply:i had white ballet slippers on after my dinner! but if you have time to order check out rhinestoneroxy.com... add a little sparkle to the flip flops to make them a bit more fancy if you desire!
Reply:It depends on the tone of your wedding. And also consider if your bridesmaids find wearing them to be comfortable. Unfortunately for me, I can%26#039;t wear them. They are too uncomfortable between my toes. But I%26#039;m weird like that. I%26#039;d wear them if you wanted me to and I was a bridesmaid at your wedding.
Reply:I think it is a great idea. I let my girls pick their own shoes for the wedding, as long as they were white. I told my girls that I was not going to make them dye shoes that they could only wear with that dress, so with them getting to pick their own shoes, most of them picked ones that were already comfortable. However, they knew that I was changing into white slippers at the reception since my aunt makes them and she made me a special pair for the wedding, so a couple of my girls asked if they could wear slippers or flip flops at the reception and I told them sure! If was going to wear them, they could too. My thought is you want them to be comfortable and happy too after all the help they are for you and your special day. Hope your wedding day is beyond wonderful and everything you could dream of.
Reply:Shoot... I had my bridesmaids wear cute black flip flops the whole day! haha
Reply:I am wearing flip flops as soon as all the formal things are taken care of, I refuse to walk in heels all night with my feet hurting. I also allowed my bridesmaids to change into flip flops at the reception as long as they were white, so they match the dresses still.

I see nothing wrong with it, unless you are used to wearing heels all the time why be uncomfortable on the day you are supposed to having the most fun
Reply:I think flip flops are tacky with formalwear, nearly impossible to dance in, and a needless expense. Also, if your dresses weren%26#039;t hemmed with them in mind, you%26#039;re going to wind up with skirts dragging on the floor in a big way.

It really is better and more practical to simply wear shoes your feet will be comfortable in all day long.
Reply:I gave all my girls flip flops to wear around in the Bridal Suite and during the reception of my wedding. I bought them hot pink ones from Old Navy and I wore a pair of light pink ones. On each flip flop I wrote things like bridesmaid, the wedding date, cute nicknames and other fun things. They loved the flip flops and I still see them wearing them months after the wedding.
Reply:I think its a good idea and i might just have to steal that idea for my wedding.lol you should definetly do it.
Reply:Tacky. Silk ballet type shoes is one thing but flip flops at a wedding are just tacky. Why have a formal wedding service and reception if you are going to trash it up with shoes that belong on the beach.
