Flip-Flops in Public Bathrooms?

Does a person have to wear flip-flops in a public bathroom? And if so, why? And do you wear flip-flops in a public bathroom?

(bathroom as in shower)

Flip-Flops in Public Bathrooms?
Of course you don%26#039;t have to wear flip-flops, but depending on the state of the public bathroom it%26#039;s advisable.

People usually wear them in public showers at backpacker%26#039;s hostels/camping grounds because of all the other people and the grime they can bring into the toilet - there%26#039;s a lot of little nasties (bacteria, fungi etc.) which can lead lead to foot conditions/disease like tinea. If the bathroom is in a less %26quot;desirable%26quot; area then the bathroom can also have sharp objects (e.g. glass, needles) on the floor which are obviously more dangerous to bare feet than the soles of flip-flops.

I%26#039;ve worn flip-flops in the bathroom/shower when I%26#039;ve been on school camps just in case - it%26#039;s better to be safe than sorry. I%26#039;d rather come back from a camp/holiday with good memories; not a foot infection.
Reply:I always wear flip flops or like plastic and or rubber sandals. No there is no law or health code I know of but I just find it a little cleaner. One should always use an anti-fungal cream after using a public shower. The fungus that causes athletes foot and jock itch are found all over public shower areas. So I usually wear flip flops and then after I dry off I will put on some anti-fungal cream and maybe some powder like Gold Bond to help. I mean public showers are kinda nasty. =)
Reply:uhm, in a public shower? i do. you never know whats on the floor/been on the floor...

i don%26#039;t want warts developing on my feet...
Reply:1. Do you have to? No. Should you? YES!

2. Bare feet in a public %26quot;Wet%26quot; area, promotes foot fungi and other bacterial infections.

3. YES! All the Time.
